1. The game is wrong! Wikipedia has different classifications for one of the species.

This is possible. The classifications used in the game are based on the NCBI taxonomy, which is the most widely used taxonomy for species. However, it is not the only taxonomy. The Wikipedia taxonomy is also widely used, and it is possible that the two taxonomies disagree on the classification of a species.

2. What is Metazooa?

Metazooa is a daily biology game by Trainwreck Labs. Your goal is try to find the mystery species by adding guesses to the phylogenetic tree, while each incorrect guess shows you how close you are to the answer. There is a different answer every day for all players. If you haven't tried it yet, play now! It's always free, no sign-in required.

3. What is Metavita?

On Metavita, you can create your own round of Metazooa and compete with your friends to see who can find the mystery species the fastest. You also get to decide which species are available in the tree of life.

4. What is a league?

Your league is all the games you've created. You can invite your friends to share the link to your league so that you all play the same games together, and can keep track of your scores.

5. What is the Trainwreck Club?

The Trainwreck Club is the paid subscription service from Trainwreck Labs. For only $20 a year, you can start a league and create as many custom Metazooa games as you want, and remove ads from all daily Trainwreck Labs games. If you're not already a member, you can join the Trainwreck Club from the profile page.

6. Why do I have to pay to create a new tree of life?

The revenue from Trainwreck Club subscriptions helps to keep the original daily games to be free forever.
